I have been creating street art for year. I used to draw comics then suddenly decided to make huge paintings them pasted them up in the streets. It was quite by accident.
Stickers can cheer up an otherwise boring environment. They can cheer people up, add colour and put a smile on somebody’s face.
I first went pasting up on a pogo stick
I think stickers give people a voice, they allow an artist to express themselves. They can cheer you up, make you think and put a smile on peoples faces. And that surely is a great thing.
I do consider many stickers small artworks. I initially created stickers with positive messages on, but often I create colourful graphic work with strange characters on. The weirder the better!
I am currently wotking on SSOSVA stickers and also some sculptures to stick up on walls.
I have my work in India which is pretty cool. And some great artists in New Zealand are always happy to stick up work for me there. They’re rad people. I’d love to have a sticker on Husky Sleigh in Alaska.
Just go for it. Its cheap to start, if you love illustrating of are a keen typographer just give it a shot. DM street artists who you admire and ask them for any advice or tips.
